Healthy little boy!

Zander had his 9 month checkup today. Everything is looking great. He is 29 inches tall and 22 pounds. Dr. Trias wanted to look in his mouth so he went to put the "stick" in his mouth and Zander clinched his mouth shut. As Dr. T tried to open his mouth he showed Dr. T how strong his jaw was!

Zander got "kicked out" of daycare yesterday afternoon for having a 100.5 temp which meant he couldn't go to daycare today. Julie (our friend and Tony's cousin) was gracious enough to watch him today. He had fun playing with Julie and watching their two cats, I keep reminding Zander-no pets in the house. :-) I think he is getting his top teeth because he is drooling and sticking out his tongue quite a bit.

Here is a picture from Zander today at Julie's, he loved playing with Julie!

Mr. Smiley at daycare

This was taken a few weeks ago at daycare, this is him crawling backwards.

This picture was taken on Tuesday this week - Zander is front left, and yes that is his tongue sticking out!

I did post (finally) on Wednesday, so scroll down for more milestones of Zander.

Where have you been?

We are back from Indianapolis– sorry for the lack of posting the past few months. Let’s get right to Zander updates, huh?!

Zander is hitting the milestones, I think each week he has a new trick!
• He has three teeth on the bottom.
• He is crawling backwards, just hasn’t figured out going forward. He really tries to stand on his own but if he grabs on to our hands he can pull himself up. He has this music table and he can stand on his own for a couple of minutes.
• He is a pro at eating table food, forget the baby food now. We haven’t found anything he doesn’t like. Guess what his favorite is – yep, chocolate. I know he is suppose to eat chocolate yet, but when have we followed any rules!
• He knows “how big are you?” then he lifts his arms. (Thanks to Grandma Bonnie, she taught him that over the weekend while we were at the Big Ten Tournament.
• He is talking a ton. He even talks when we put him down for bed. We think he is saying “Ma and Da” but that might just be our minds.
• He loves taking walks thanks to the nice weather and he loves swinging in the swing at daycare.
• Last night (Tuesday night) he made his NCAA basketball picks. I wrote the teams on a little piece of paper and put the two teams in front of him, then whichever piece he picked up was the winner of the game. So his championship game is between Georgetown and Wake Forest. Tony’s picks are Kansas State and West Virginia, mine(Kacey) are Syracuse and Duke. I had to pick Duke to keep my Mom happy!

Our vacation to Mexico a few months ago was fantastic! We were upgraded to a new resort and we were treated like celebrities. It was amazing and now I know why celebs are high maintenance - by Day 6 we were asking for everything.

I have downloaded a bunch of pictures – our vacation, Big Ten tournament and some of Mr. Zander.

I am done with school in a few weeks so I will not be able to post until then since I have finals and papers to complete. Once this semester is over I should be able to post at least once a week, especially when Zander hit his milestones.

We go to the doctor on Wednesday so I will send a quick update on his weight/height, etc.

We booked a trip to Portland to see Kurt (my bro) and Kalli (my sister) the end of April, and yes we are taking Zander. His first flight!

Easily amused!

Here is a picture of Zander and Jackson playing, Jackson would shake the rattle and Zander would laugh. Thought you would enjoy this picture. Please notice the shirt he is wearing too! I should also let you know that Tony picked out his outfit this morning.

Another month yet by....

Where has time gone? My apologies again for the delay in posting. I am now in school again taking three classes. So posting will probably happen once a month until May.

Anyway, here is the link to Zander's 6 month pictures taken over a month ago.

Some exciting updates on Zander:
  • He is moving up in daycare to the next room - Hippo, he is currently in the Giraffe room. He has reached all milestones to move up as well as there are other kids coming in.
  • He has moved into his convertible carseat, and loves it! He can see out the window and talks non-stop, who did he get that from I wonder?
  • He is sleeping through the night, letting him cry for two hours for five days worked!! Amazing.
  • He has learned how to jump in his jumper to the point of exhaustion! Yes, a few weeks ago we found him sound asleep in the jumper and let's not forget snoring.
  • He is sitting up and now wants to stand if we are holding him. Oh, no - he may be a mover sooner than later.
  • He has two teeth on the bottom. Just yesterday he started with the runny nose and drooling again so we are thinking his top teeth will be quickly approaching.
Oh and let's not forget he continues to smile, laugh and talk non-stop.

Some exciting news I found out this last week, I have graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business Management! Now the last three semesters are finishing my Bachelors in Marketing. Very exciting!!!!

Save the best for last - we leave for Puerto Vallarta in 8 days with five other couples. My Mom and Ruthie are babysitting Zander while we are gone. So if you hear on the news that Wisconsites were arrested in Puerto Vallarta, please bail us out.

That is it for now, I will post again within the next month.

Love you all-
Tony, Kacey & Zander

Zander is famous!

How can I forget to tell you the story about Zander's first basketball game at the Kohl Center. It was mid November when Mom and Tom took all three of us to Badger Men's Basketball game. We saw IUPU - Fort Wayne, which is Dane Fife's team (former IU player). We had the seats behind the opposing bench and while Zander was sitting on my lap jamming to the UW band - I looked up at the jumbotron and it was the cutest baby EVER - yep Zander was shown on the jumbotron for a good minute or so. He was jamming to the UW band! Tony then ran into some of Ruthie and Louie friends who asked if Tony had a baby and he said "yes" and they said "we thought that had to be a Vosberg baby!!" Wow, the Vosberg genes are strong enough to be noticed amongst 17,000 people! Watch out ladies under one, there is a single Vosberg hunk roaming the world!!

Well as most of you know we do not have a Christmas tree or any decorations for that matter and Zander is dealing with it just fine! You know my motto - if you have to store it longer than it is up, why have it?? We did buy Zander a little something for Christmas - a big ol' Tonka truck that I think may be bigger than him. Tony has wanted to give him a truck since we found out we were having a boy, so this was the perfect time to give him one. Yes, we will take pictures of him opening it.

Zander got his six month pictures taken two weekends ago and he didn't smile much but they were all soooo very adorable. If you want to see a few of them, visit Krista's blog at http://kristaroderphotography.wordpress.com/. I ordered the entire CD because I couldn't decide which ones to order. Once I get the CD I will download them so you can see them all. We found out on Sunday that he was pushing out a tooth so hence not many smiles. He now has two teeth on the bottom and it looks like the top ones are getting ready as his gums are pretty swollen.

We went to the doctor yesterday (12/21) and he was 19 lbs and 26.5 inches long. He is doing well for growth and developmentper the doctor, so that is always nice to hear. He got four shots too, he was smiling again until the darn needle goesinto the leg then he cries but then when she was done he stopped and began to fall asleep and that was without Tylenol.

Again Merry Christmas to you. As you have probably noticed we don't send Christmas cards, consider this your Christmas card!

Here is a picture with all his friends at daycare - they had a party in their room on the 21st.
